Concrete Jungle is...

This page offers information about Concrete Jungle, who they are, where they are and what they do.

The business was founded at the turn of the century by a group of South Coast skateboarders working hard to push our own skate brand, selling t-shirts, sweatshirts and most importantly skateboards.

Hailing from close to Bournemouth we are an Active Clothing Design Company, visit our designs page for quality merchandise @ your finger tips, or for details of future comps and other stuff check out the events page.

To promote the Concrete Jungle brand name we have been running events and competitions throughout the region, and are preparing for more.

Our aim is to promote live music and parties, pay our respects to the rulers of the sport, and give Bournemouth skaters something they are not used to....Respect.

Concrete Jungle do..

We don't do surfing.
We don't do wakeboarding.
We don't do in-lining, free running,
sky-diving or cycling.

we do skateboarding. and skateboard paraphernalia.

Since we began our venture we have definitely noticed a change in people’s attitudes towards skating around town.
People can’t ignore it. When you mess up with a trick they’ll grab your board, given half a chance, and hand it back, with a smile. They now know a good trick when they see it (with that said if they don’t like it they can F Orf).

Could it be that THPS and things like the Extreme Channel have converted the world to skateboard fanatics?
Or is it because they’re coming to accept the fact that they simply have NO CHOICE? Of course this isn’t happening everywhere, but it’s happening.

The other day I heard that Lowestoft, a town on the North coast of Norfolk has arranged a timetable with designated times for skaters and the like to shred the town. (Wild). I recently found myself in deepest, darkest Devon and low and behold I found a classy little skatepark.

Bristol has recently opened up it’s second public skate-park and closer to home Bournemouth council have over-hauled the ‘almost legendary’ Slades Farm skate-park. After several years of neglect it is now totally (100%) skateable. Southampton must have lost the plot quite recently though as they shut down the Mayflower, and opened up a vast metal ramp facility, complete with metal floor (!?)..

Concrete Jungle are..

An inter-active clothing design company who’s sole purpose is to promote an ideal lifestyle of skateboarding, and to advertise the sport we practice and care about.
Although fond of travelling to these other places and terrorising strange pedestrians, hungry for some skateboard action we made a decision at the start of the Millennium to concentrate our efforts on the local scene in and around Bournemouth in an effort to put our brand-name on the map, and to take something back from the skate-shops cropping up all over the place.

Consisting of one veteran skater, one apprentice, and a transient formerly known as Cousin Boneless, Concrete Jungle was born. We have created our own, affordable, brand name with many desirable garments, designed by skaters to sell to skaters. We are also at work on creating our own boards.

These days ‘Concrete Jungle’ can be seen as more a union of artists, performers and extreme sports enthusiasts from the South Coast working together to bring you the best in sights and sounds celebrating skateboarding culture.

Our events so far include the Easter SK8Fests at Ferndown, the first Slades Farm Jam of the 21st century, and our most recent ‘The Andy Marsh Memorial SK8Fest’, held in Ringwood skate-park in memory of the local BMX and mountain biker who died of Meningitis in Summer 2002, aged just 19. Keep your eyes peeled for our future events, all are welcome, always..

We’ve already had some 3000 people attend our competitions over the years, coming to witness local youths battle for supremacy.
We like to think of these as opportunities to compete for people that might not have otherwise had the chance. After several years of hosting and running our own professional competition events we’ve formed the ‘Concrete Jungle SK8 TEAM’, sooner or later we’re gonna take you all on!!!!!

step one:

Separate young up-starts and skaters from the deviants, hooligans and thieves we live amongst.

step two:

Root out our kind of skateboarders.

step three:

To become the best selling skate brand locally.
